This prototype is equipped with a Perkins 247 cubic inch diesel engine. This article has nice pictures of a blue and white Scout, restored and as a unique and rare prototype. The article has interesting history of the International Harvester's relationship with Perfins to install their diesel in the Scout, and its final tie-up with Nissan to supply production diesel engines.
