    Description

This is a set of two poster stamps commemorating the dropping of the atomic bomb in World War II and the aircraft flown with its ground crew. The B-29 Superfortress, The Enola Gay, was piloted by Colonel Paul W. Tibbets, Jr. and targeted Hiroshima, Japan. A second bomb was later dropped on Nagasaki. This led to the surrender of Japan to the Allies in World War II in August of 1945. These cinderella stamps were issued to commemorate the
60th anniversary year of this historic event. The stamps are in mint, never hinged condition without gum as issued. They were not issued by the USPS and are not valid for postage in any country. They would make an interesting addition to any collection of World War 2 memorabilia, United States or Japanese history or cinderella stamps. FREE clear plastic protective display holders included! Thanks for looking!
