Carbon Fiber Sunroof Delete *FITS* 89'-94' Nissan S13 240SX *COUPE ONLY*

Description

For sale is a brand new custom carbon fiber sunroof delete insert that fits a Nissan 89'-94' S13 240SX chassis.  This insert is designed to completely replace the entire sunroof glass, motor, tray assembly, and be permanently mounted to the chassis.
*This fits the coupe model only.  It does not fit the hatch.*
Construction:
Each insert is made from a combination of premium 3k70 2x2 twill carbon fiber, Mil-spec E-glass fiberglass, closed cell foam core, and epoxy resin to optimize strength and weight reduction.  The insert is vacuum infused with an aerospace grade, 100% solids, UV stabilized, 170 deg. Fahrenheit cured, epoxy resin that will not shrink or out-gas styrene.
The mold has been produced using the factory glass.  This ensures the contours of the insert will correctly match the chassis, i.e. this is not just a flat plate.  The thickness of the carbon insert is approximately 0.170in thick and the factory glass is 0.200in thick, providing room for your clear coat.  The external periphery is larger than the factory glass to completely fill the hole in the chassis.
Installation:
This insert is designed to replace the entire sunroof assembly.  The installation is accomplished by bonding the insert to L-bracket clips attached to the chassis and then sealing with an RTV.  It is a straight forward installation that either you or your local race shop will be capable of.  We do provide some recommendations on our website.  Please note that we do not provide hardware for this installation.
Due to tolerances in our trim operations and the factory chassis opening, some slight sanding and trimming may be required for final fit.
This is easily accomplished with some 120grit sandpaper and a block though most customers will find this drops right in.
Finish:
This part is not clear coated.  Northwind specializes in advanced engineering and manufacturing, not spraying.  Each part is made off a polished mold with a semi-permanent mold release.  This provides a high gloss finish.  However, we do recommend a professional grade clear coat to really make it shine and add depth to the carbon as well as adding a little extra UV protection.  If you do decide not to clear coat it, it can be very nicely polished with 1500 grit, 2000 grit, and polishing compound will make it brighter but you will not have the same depth of a clear coat.
Notes: Please be aware that there will always be minor sanding, shaving, cutting, and/or filling prior to installing composite parts.  The resin finish must be sanded and other prep work will be required prior to painting or clear coating.  This part is hand-made and therefore there may be slight aesthetic imperfections in the weave.  If you have questions, please feel free to ask.
