BACKGROUND:  From my mom's collection of patterns, these were treasured designs, and she made all of them.  My best memory is her stitching Lydia after hospitalization and surgery for a brain aneurysm.  We were so afraid that she had lost her ability to stitch.  My entire life she had some sort of needles or shuttle in her hands.  To our delight she made this image perfectly....except it was off center on the canvas.  In an oval frame it looked gorgeous.
