This is an original set of top and bottom plates from an Olympus Pen FT.
The chrome and nickel platings have been stripped down to the brass, and durable black paint powder coating has been applied.
These plates can be used to convert your Pen FT to black paint. The plastic frame counter window as well as the plastic piece that allows light to illuminate the meter must be carefully removed from your Pen FT and glued (recommended to use Pliobond glue) to the openings on this top plate.
The screws, battery cap, shutter speed dial, rewind knob assembly, shutter button, and self timer will remain chrome.
Note the tiny impression above the “P” on the top plate.
It is recommended to leave the PEN FT engravings in relief, without filling them with white, for a stealth look, as it is not easy to fill in these engravings. The second photo is what a completed Olympus Pen FT looks like, except that camera also has a black painted shutter button.
