Description
Offered for sale is a gorgeous Depression Glass butter dish in the "Patrician" pattern - also known as "Spoke". The color is green and this pattern was manufactured by the Federal Glass Company from 1933-1937. The butter dish bottom - is in PRISTINE CONDITION!! That is highly unusual - you normally find some sort of damage with the bottom. This is one of the times in Depression Glass when the bottom is much, much harder to find than the top!! Even the inside ledge inside of the butter dish is smooth and clean! Talk about amazing!! The lid is in great condition with slight damage underneath of the knob on the top: this is where you put your fingers underneath of the finial- very hard to see but on one side there is a small flake off (1/4") and on the other side, although smooth to the touch, it seems like there was a ding that you can see inside of the glass. It is really rather minimal damage underneath of the finial but I must mention it. It does not affect the piece or the use of the piece. This pattern has NEVER BEEN REPRODUCED so that is another plus! The base measures 6 1/2 inches across and stands 1 1/4 inches tall. The lid stands about 3 1/2 inches tall and measures about 5 1/4 inches across the bottom. This is part of a Depression Glass butter dish collection that my mother gathered back in the 1970's. Please see the photos, check my feedback, and ask any questions before making a purchase. Happy Shopping!!
