I am pleased to offer for your consideration a set of five Rosina-Queen's Fine Bone China Hooker's Fruit pattern Salad/Dessert Plates that appear to have been seldom used, if ever; all are free of chips, cracks and repairs with minimal surface scratches most likely due to improper storage in the past. Measuring approximately 8-5/8" in diameter, this gorgeous fine bone china dinnerware set has rich, dramatic coloring on its assorted fruit including APPLE, APRICOT, PEACH, PEAR and PLUM, blossoms and foliage graphics; intricate laurel banding encircles the outer rim. As an aside: Sir William Jackson Hooker (1779-1832) was an English botanist and botanical illustrator, who became the first director of Kew Gardens, London when in 1831 it was recommended to be placed under state ownership as a botanic garden. At Kew he founded the Herbarium and enlarged the gardens and arboretum (information obtained from Wikipedia).
