    Description

    Up for auction is a large nice clean vintage 1960's GULF Solar Heat Heating Oils porcelain sign with the distributors name on the bottom. The bottom panel is a bolt on separate panel (see photo 4). This sign had been painted over at one time and has since been stripped and cleaned. The colors are bright and has only a few very small chips. It does have some rust around the holes that had been drilled in for mounting, but very minimal. The rust around the holes and one of the few very small chips can be seen in photo 6. This does have a 1" bend on the sides which has some holes and they are little rusty and weak which is allowing the sign to flex a little (see photo 10). This could easily be fixed with a stiffener angle around the inside back. The inside of the main sign does have some rust thru on each bottom corner, but is covered by the Gilbert Brothers sign and cannot see it from the front. Photos 8 & 9 show this.
